The Botanic Garden of the Eastern Alps is located on Alpe del Nevegal, on the mount Faverghera. It extends on a area of 6,25 hectares, and its situated at an altitude of 1400-1600 meters above the sea level.
The Botanic Garden is situated on a caracteristic transition line that mark the passage from arboleas forms to high quote grassland, characterized by thick spot of hirsute rhododendron and small rhododendron. A strong presence of willows, principaly stipulated willow and Botanic Garden's Waldstein willow, marks the umidity of the local clime.
Also the fauna in the reserve presents many interesting aspects. In fact, despite the Botanic Garden is for his vocation an interpretation tool of the complex ambiental panoramic of the Eastern Alps, it hosts a significant fauna tipical of the horizon of transition to contorted shrubs.
