Zoppè di Cadore

Although the smallest town in the province, it is rich in beauty, treasures and tradition. It is an authentic and simple atmosphere that can be felt while walking through its narrow streets characterized by typical mountain buildings.

The Ethnographic Museum, which tells the story of coal processing, and the Church of St. Anne, which houses the altarpiece attributed to Titian or his workshop, are worth a visit.

Numerous hikes and routes leave from here during summer and in winter with snowshoes on. From the most challenging iron roads and climbs to easier routes that are also suitable for families, the natural scenery dominated by Monte Pelmo, you will frequently see on your adventures, will always be unique.

Curiosities and tips

  • Besides being the smallest municipality, Zoppè is also the town at the highest altitude
  • The province's first emigrant ice cream maker, Antonio Tomea "baréta", left from here, and was the first to obtain an official license as an "ice cream pedlar" in Vienna
