Val Fiorentina

Val Fiorentina is a valley off the beaten path that still boasts its intact and unspoiled landscape.

Pelmo, Civetta, the Cernera group and Marmolada frame this valley and, along with the dense forests and pastures, create captivating views accessible year-round with trails for every level of difficulty.

Snow during winter will make the valley even more magical where you can ski (Civetta Ski Area) and snowshoe.
Summer will give you long days to spend walking, conquering the peaks or simply enjoying the silence and peace of these places.

In the small mountain villages that dot Val Fiorentina, you will encounter a genuine and authentic atmosphere where traditions and local culture are still firmly rooted.

Curiosities and tips

  • At the Vittorino Cazzetta museum in Selva di Cadore, you can see the cast of dinosaur footprints found on Pelmetto and the skeleton of Valmo, the man from Mondeval
  • The Alta Via dell’Orso (a 10 km loop with little elevation gain also suitable for families) is an itinerary inspired by the novel “The Bear’s Skin” by Padua native, M. Righetto. The main characters head off on a journey in search of the bear called “El Diàol” meaning the devil in dialect. This involves hiking a nature trail as well as a literary and culture trail that starts from Colle Santa Lucia
  • The Santa Fosca Ski Camp is ideal for learning to ski. The realm of beginners. Perfect place for families with snow inflatables, slope for sledding and bobsleighs
  • Don’t miss the hiking trip to L’Andria and Toffol to see traditional architecture.
