Fort Carriola - Por
The positionFort Carriola lies on a hilltop on the eastern flank of the valley at an altitude of 1054 metres, above the village of Por (municipality of Pieve di Bono), and was erected between 1910 and 1914 to protect and strengthen the Lardaro barrage.
a modern fortOut of the last forts built in Trentino, the Carriola' one was built using all the latest technological advances, including the generous use of reinforced concrete with 50 cm high girders. The fort was blown up at the end of the conflict in order to recover the ferrous material.
NowadaysFor this reason, it is in a worse state of preservation than the other two existing ones, but it still retains a great deal of attraction due to its architectural structure and the splendour of its natural surroundings.
